I have a normal bike rack. Will the Tailfin Mini Panniers fit? We designed our panniers to fit as wide a range of racks as possible. Included with your pannier are Third-Party Rack Inserts to help achieve the best fit possible. The lower hook on the 5/10L Panniers can also be angled to achieve the best fit, too.
What’s the maximum weight I can carry in my Mini Panniers? Both the 5/10L Mini Panniers have a max weight limit of 8kg for road riding only. For off-road riding, we recommend carrying 50% less weight (4kg) per bag.
Are these an individual or pair? Each pannier is sold individually.
Can I convert my Mini Panniers into a Fork Pack? Yes, this is possible with the V2 5/10L Mini Panniers. To convert to a Fork Pack, you can purchase our Conversion Kit. Unfortunately, V1 5/10L Mini Panniers are not convertible.
Will they fit the T1? Yes, they use the same type of connection as our SL22 and UD22 panniers and are retrofitted to ensure compatibility with the original Tailfin T1 Rack.
What if they become damaged? How long is the guarantee? All Tailfin products come with a 2-year guarantee. Our Mini Panniers follow the same modular design as the rest of our products which means that all parts are replaceable and can be repaired at home if anything happens. We have these available on our Spares Page. Despite being made from durable materials, we know accidents do happen. We offer a crash replacement policy to provide you with a replacement bag for a discounted price, or in some instances, if the damage isn’t too severe, we can repair most items. Are the T Hook compression straps included? Yes, all Panniers come with 2 sets of T-Hook compression straps. These straps are removable from the panniers quickly and easily, allowing you the flexibility of using or not using them, depending on your carrying needs.
Are the packs waterproof? Yes, all our bags are high-frequency, ultrasonically welded, so are 100% waterproof – not a drop can enter the bag when closed, even in a torrential downpour.
How are they secured to the rack? They are secured to the rack via our X Clamp technology – a precision-engineered, CNC-machined aluminium stop-action clamp which tightly secures the bag to the rack in 2 places, eliminating all rattle and movement when riding, even off-road. They have a secure lower hook which keeps the bag securely close to the arch, even on rough terrain.
How quickly can you attach and remove Mini Panniers? The bags remove and attach easily in a matter of seconds.
Do they come with an air valve? Only the 16L Mini Panniers come with an air valve included.
Can I carry a Laptop? No, we recommend that for carrying a laptop, our larger 16/22L Panniers are better suited for the job and also come with an optional Laptop Holster for each size.
