No mounts, no problem
The patented Tailfin V-Mount system ensures a completely stable, reliable and repeatable connection between bag and bike, without needing fixed mounting points.
Introducing the V Mount system
The V-Mount system is our next generation mounting system that solves the problems associated with traditional velcro mounting. Customisable, reliable and best of all: zero-slip.
Q-Factor considered
Narrow profile designed to fit within most common bottom bracket widths, reducing crank rub. The 1.7l plays well with road and gravel geometry, whilst the 3l is ideal for wider stance MTB BB widths.
Reassuringly weatherproof
Welded seams and an impenetrable roll-top opening combine with Tailfin’s signature Hypalon and Ripstop Nylon construction to provide 100% waterproofing. Guaranteed.
Fit exactly what you need
Pack just the essentials for a quick trail ride or add to your bikepacking setup for additional storage. Sized to fit gas bottles and Nalgene style water bottles with ease.
Boosted volume
We could have taken the easy path and gone for a basic tube shape but this wastes additional space that could be utilised. The Downtube Pack pushes storage volume to the max without compromising on clearance.
Trail tough, not overly built
The Downtube Pack is designed to have a hard life and to hit the elements head on. To ensure complete reliability we use hard wearing 420D Hypalon in the areas that need it.
No frame rub design
Low profile V-Mount allows for separation between Pack and your precious frame. Absolutely no damage to your frame when mounted correctly.
Trap your loose ends
No more annoying straps catching legs or cranks as the V-Mount system is sized to neatly stow any loose ends when the pack is fitted.

For those who choose to bikepack on rigs that are completely bereft of bonus eyelets, and the ability to fit a cargo cage of some sort, the Downtube pack is definitely an appealing solution to carrying extra gear. It’s durably made, 100% waterproof, and considerably kinder to your paintwork than Velcro-mounted alternatives.Bikepacking.com
