What are Pannier Mounts?

Pannier Mounts let you attach side bags for extra carrying capacity. As they’re built into the rack at the point of manufacture, they can’t be added later – so you need to decide now. Most riders get them for flexibility, even if not using panniers straight away.

Whats the difference between our axles?

We supply 1 of these 3 axles with all of our rear racks. The axle you need will depend on your bike.

Single Thru Axle

Modern bikes use thru axles, select the single thru axle if you know your pitch thread.

Universal Thru Axle

Ships with multiple thru axles to fit all bikes

Quick Release Axle

Usually found on older bikes and are usually hollow with a lever on one side.

Laptop Holster

What is a Laptop Holster? A protective support attachment for Tailfin Panniers, to keep your laptop secure and protected from impacts. Includes a zippered pocket for small items. 16L holster fits a 14″ laptop / 22L holster fits a 16″ laptop

How does it work? The holster suspends your laptop within the pannier, creating a protective gap at the bottom. If dropped, the bag absorbs the impact before your laptop is damaged.

Shoulder Strap

What is the shoulder strap? A strong padded strap for carrying panniers. Attaches via G-hook clips.

What’s great about it? Seamless foam padding won’t dig into your shoulder. Fully adjustable and reversible – wear it either way. Stays tidy when shortened, won’t flap around. Heavy-duty G-hook clip for secure attachment.

Clip-on Rear Light

What is the wearable light? Compact rechargeable safety light that clips onto Panniers.

What’s great about it? Clips directly onto pannier straps or bags for instant visibility. Six lighting modes with 35-lumen COB LED. USB rechargeable with a low battery indicator. Perfect for commuting or bikepacking.

Avoid the dreaded ‘yard sale’ effect when emptying your things at the end of a day in the saddle. These Packing Cubes have been designed to simplify the packing process and to maximise the capacity inside Tailfin’s Rear Packs by incorporating clever shaping, thoughtful details, and high-performance fabrics.

With all three weighing less than 155g, we think that better organisation is worth the minor weight penalty.
