Product (X Series Pannier Rack with Pannier Bags) is really very cool and fits well with my mountain bike and my road bicycle.
However, the transport declaration is not professional: I noted in the command clearly that they should declare the value of goods, otherwise we will have problems with Swiss Customs (a friend of mine already had problems). Unfortunately Tailfin did not declare the values, and the parcel got stuck 2 weeks at Swiss customs...
I cannot say enough positive things about this system. The assembly was straight forward and required a couple of Allen's (Ill admit that I used torque wrenches to really dial in the Nm... but wasn't a requirement!). Once the through-axle is in adding and removing the rack is very easy. Im leaving the axle on my gravel all the time but I've been swapping out the axle on my Endurace (two different thread configurations so I have one for each).
It looks great on my Canyon Endurace - matching all carbon and black - but also on my Allied gravel bike. Im thinking it will mostly live on the gravel bike but I did pack the Canyon with it with 40+ beers from a brewery visit. Super cool to bike there and home with beer!
When its not loaded up with beer (rumor you can put other things in the panniers too) I do not know its on the bike. Nothing rattles, nothing moves - the bike is as stiff and agile as it always is. I was surprised that under load I was able to get out of the saddle to get up a climb and the bike still felt pretty stable.
Thank you for the amazing engineering --
I purchased one Tailfin SL22 Super Light Pannier Bag shortly before PBP 2019. Tailfin's racks were not available at the time for PBP, so I went with a Tubus Airy rack. The pannier is doing great on this rack - I particularly love the mounting system, easy to attach to the bike, snug, no rattling or swinging at all. You'll have confidence that you won't lease the pannier (something I've seen happening at PBP to one rider). I've put this bag through some serious bike commuting since (since I seem to like it now more than my heavy duty Ortlieb panniers). Because of COVID-19 and thus more totally self-supported long distance rides (Randonneuring 2.0 style), I just purchased a second SL22 Pannier Bag so I can carry more food and liquids on board for rides up to 300k to 400k). Works well, I almost forget that I am fully loaded when cruising (sometimes even going fast) on these long distance ride.
