Unfortunately not. Each system (Bar Cage and Bar Bag) has a different way of attaching accessory mounts so are not compatible with each different system.
Yes, they are available to purchase on the Bar Cage accessories page here.
Yes! The Bar Cage can be purchased on it’s own and comes with the Bar Cage mount included. You can purchase the Cargo straps as an addition too.
The handlebar mount is rated for use on a compatible carbon handlebar. Please check with the manufacturer of your handlebar for compatibility (typically if it is rated for use with aerobars then it will be compatible).
The Bar Cage is rated to carry up to 3 kilograms of load for off-road use and up to 6 kilograms on the road.
We recommend a minimum of 20mm clearance between the bottom the Cage Bag or other items mounted to the cage and the tyre. If you have a suspension fork or stem you will need more clearance to correspond with the amount of travel your fork or stem provides. I.e. if you have a 100mm travel fork you will need 120mm of clearance. If you have a suspension stem with 20mm of movement you will need 40mm of clearance as a minimum.
The smallest diameter handlebar the handlebar mount will fit is 31.8mm (most modern handlebars use this diameter).
Yes. The two-piece design moves the bag away from the handlebar and leaves space for cables and brake hoses to move freely between the bar and bag.
If your aerobars have at least 20 mm of standard round tubing either side of the stem then yes, you can fit the Bar System. For all other aero handlebars including one-piece bar and stem combinations unfortunately you will not be able to fit the Bar System.
Yes. You will just need to buy either the 22.2mm Bar Side Mount and remove the cylindrical part to fit the light to the attachment or GoPro mount and add Exposure’s GoPro mount.
Unfortunately not. The Bar Cage is only compatible with the Bar Cage mount, and not the Bar Bag Mount.
Cargo Straps are only included when purchasing a Cage Bag, they do not come with the Bar Cage as standard. You are able to purchase straps if required on the product page.
This decision is all about how you want to carry your kit. The Bar Cage System is perfect if you want to strap items to your bike and go or if you already own a number of dry bags and cargo straps. You can even use it to add more stability to an existing handlebar bag from a different brand. With the option of the 3 sizes of dry bag style Cage Bags to go with it, you have more versatility with what and how you attach items to your bike at a lower price point. The Bar Bag System is a comprehensive system designed to work perfectly together and provide a superior and more refined performance thanks our classic quick release x-clamp system and multiple pockets. This is ideal for a more classic approach to bikepacking and having a repeat setup when you ride.
When attached securely, the Cage Bags should have little to no movement. To extend the life of the product, all 3 Cage Bags have an anti-abrasion TPU patch welded to the rear of the bag where it touches the cage. If you are using a third-party dry bag we cannot guarantee you won’t experience some wear/rub over time.
The Bar Cage and all hardware weigh 247g.
Yes, the Bar Cage mounts do fit on the inner 31.8mm bars which are standard bar width, but not the outer 22.2mm bar. You may need to angle the cage down slightly to avoid the front bar. Ensure that you maintain a minimum of 20mm of clearance above the front tyre though and this will depend on your stack height.
Yes, the Bar cage is compatible with the lower shelf.
