How to Repair Buckle Closure: A Quick Guide
A step-by-step guide for repairing the buckle closure on Tailfin CargoPack Top Bags (formerly known as AP Top Bags), Panniers, Fork Packs, Cargo and Downtube Packs, as well as our Bar Bags.
1. Required Kit
Parts required for this repair:
– Tailfin Buckle Repair Kit (Replacement buckle and Hypalon tab)
– Scissors
– Sewing machine (Use a strong needle if possible)
– Double-sided tape
2. Remove excess tab
Start by trimming the excess from the original tab
3. Thread the replacement buckle
Thread the replacement tab and buckle, and position over the original. Use double-sided tape or clips to keep the tab in place.
4. Ensure the buckle is correctly positioned
5. Stitch tab keeper
Stitch the tab keeper and ensure all sides are sewn. This prevents movement and provides a neat finish.
6. Stitch buckle tab
Stitch across the tab directly behind the buckle
