Great Cage - a perfect solution.

I was organising my kit for the upcomimg Atlas Mountain Race and as you probably know, useable space on the bike is a premium. My issue was fitting my ToolKit in a secure, but suitable, accessable place - but this space was limited in size. The SMALL size Cargo Cage was simply perfect. Easy to fit, secure and allowed me to fit my ToolKit where I wanted it, and accessible easily with the Tailfin Straps.
Tailfin could easily have stuck with just one size ... but they actually do THREE ... Lage, Small and Mini.

Really light, really well made and designed. ... and plenty of options for a variety of fitting places.

Maybe a simple part of their range, but very versatile and useable.

I've now got 6 Tailfin fork cages which are the best on the market. I've also used one as a handlebar cage for my sleeping bag. Top quality and well designed. Tailfin service is excellent. I mistakenly ordered the small cage rather than large. No fuss, the returns process was so convenient and the replacement cage arrived within a couple of days and refund for the mini promptly into my account.
Really good to support a UK company that does things so well.

Best top tube bag out there

This is my 6th TT bag and it is by far the best one yet. Everything screams quality from the box and packing it came in to all the little details of the bag. The straps / v shaped footpads allow a perfect fit on the top tube and as such,.it has not moved even after a full on mountainbike ride. Also, no marks have been left on the frame of my fancy Moots, even after repeated use. Top drawer kit.

What are the Cargo Cages made of?

They are made of CNC machined 7075-T6 Aluminium. The highest grade in the cycling industry.

How much do the cages weigh?

The small cage weighs 57g, the large cage weighs 79g.

How much can the cargo cages carry?

Each cage when mounted using the 3-bolt points can carry up to 4.5kg. We recommend carrying less weight when riding off-road.

How many bolts do I need to mount per cage?

The small cage can be mounted with 2 or 3 bolts, and the large Cage can be mounted on 3 bolts.

How many straps do I need to use to hold the bag on the cage?

2 straps per bag is what we recommend, however you can add more if you wish!

What does the Load Chip do?

The Load Chip turns the flat cage into an ā€˜Lā€™ shape which the bag can rest on, for supporting heavier loads. It also functions as a bottle opener.

Where can I mount the Cargo Cages?

The size and shape of the cages mean you can mount one to almost any location on the bike that has bottle cage or cargo mounts (64mm bolt spacing)- be it the frame, fork or the Alloy Tailfin Rack/AeroPack systems.

Which bag fits with which cage?

There are three option of bag – 1.7L, 3L and 5L. The 1.7L and 3L bags fit the small cage well, and the 3L and 5L fit the larger cage well. The 3L fits both.

Can I fit a Drybag to a Tailfin Cargo Cage?

Yes, they can take any drybag which fits and is within the weight limits.

My Fork Mounts are angled. Will the Cargo Cages fit my bike?

Yes, Cargo Cages can be used on angled fork bosses. For larger cages, please check the width measurements from the specifications on our website to make sure there will be enough clearance for the brakes.

Does the Cargo Cage fit the Alloy Rack if it has Pannier Mounts?

Yes, all Cargo Cages fit the alloy arch only even if it has pannier mounts. You cannot use the panniers if the cargo cage is fitted.

Do the Cargo Cages come with screws included?

Yes, the screws are included with your Cargo Cage.
