Get the quick release

Already used it on a bike packing trip - I wish I had gotten the quick release option, or else it’s screwed onto the bike, which makes it difficult to remove and add your things at night. But I kept all my things in a bag to make it a bit easier.

I wish it had been included in the price, or more clear the consequences of not getting the quick release

I am thrilled with the Tailfin Aeropack. I recently used it for the first time on a 330 mile gravel trip and it was a major improvement over my Ortlieb seatpost packs. There is no sway whatsoever, you can access your items from the top without removing the pack, and the weight (carbon version) is extremely low. I love the fact that I can remove the pack in a matter of seconds. It folds up and easily fits in my airplane luggage. It is totally waterproof, having tested it through several storms. The axle system is genius and very easy to use. My only complaint is the zippered pockets on the side are useless to me, and are covered by the straps anyway. For items I need to reach quickly, I use the bag under my top tube.

Hi David,

So pleased to hear you're happy with your AeroPack and thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback too! It's great to hear your thoughts on the closure system and this is something I've passed onto our team. I hope you have some more good rides planned with your system and continue to enjoy your bikepacking adventures with Tailfin!

All the best, Poppy

4.5 almost 5 star rating on bags and Aeropack

I myself opted for the Aeropack and the bags that you can mount on the front fork. The quality of the bags seems high-quality and I find the mounting excellent! It is quick and easy (although you have to do it a few times to know how to do it best) and it is really secure. Really well done! There is also a downside. If your Aeropack is well filled, the tension straps slide off too easily in my opinion. Tailfin should come up with something for that. Packing things smarter also helps of course (putting them a little higher on the sides than in the middle). So it is certainly not insurmountable. All in all I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Fabulous quality

I ordered the Aero pack for stability and plenty of storage. The whole set up is so sleek, I’m really impressed

I already own an AeroPack, can I reuse the hardware from my existing bag to fit the Cargo Aeropack?

Yes, the connector pieces will still be interchangeable. You can buy the bag on its own here.

I’m undecided between the AeroPack Cargo or Regular, can you help?

Some key differences exist between the Cargo and Original AeroPacks.
The Cargo AeroPack is better suited to bike-packing trips where you want to store easily accessible items in the mesh pockets, and the Standard AeroPack is best suited for ‘touring’, where you can access things inside the bag less frequently, or for those wanting a more aero, sleek look.
Which bag you choose, though, depends on your riding style and what bag best suits your needs on and off the bike! Contact our customer service team for a more detailed response.

Is it waterproof?

The main compartment is 100% waterproof.

Will the AeroPack Extender fit?

Yes, it has the same 2-bolt connecting points so will work with the Extended Seatpost Connector. You can buy this as an add-on when you purchase the AeroPack above.
